The Supreme Court has granted interim bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the Delhi excise policy case.
The petition challenging Kejriwal's arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has been referred to a larger bench by the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court noted that Kejriwal has been incarcerated for 90 days and acknowledged that he is an elected leader.
Despite the interim bail, Kejriwal will remain in custody due to his arrest in a corruption case filed by the CBI linked to the alleged excise policy scam.
Kejriwal's lawyer termed the interim bail a significant victory, but emphasized that he will remain in jail until he gets bail in the CBI case.
